New FireWatch for new challenges
The long-serving fire station was no longer adequate in many respects, as Garching is growing and the demands on the fire brigade and its infrastructure are also increasing.
Technical developments, diverse tasks in the area of hazard prevention and assistance as well as hundreds of operations per year, with an upward trend, increasingly demand more capacity. In addition, two federal motorways, a main road, a state road, a large industrial estate and a modern research campus increase the number of potential sources of danger. The exit situation at the old fire station was particularly critical, posing an additional safety risk. The new fire station should meet all modern requirements.
