Project description
In the Wetzel Family Housing Area in Baumholder, a comprehensive new construction project with a total of 70 residential units for US Army families is being built. Planned are:
38 townhouses with three bedrooms each
18 townhouses with four bedrooms
14 townhouses for office use
The houses are housed in seven apartment blocks and have a gross floor area (GFA) of around 19,106 m² and a gross floor area (GFA) of around 56,920 m³. The project is being realised as part of a design-bid-build process. All residential units will be equipped with modern kitchens and bathrooms. In addition, energy-efficient heating, plumbing and electrical systems will be integrated to meet the latest technical standards.
Each townhouse will have:
its own garage with driveway
a balcony, an inner courtyard and a lawn area
The project also includes several utility buildings, including
an electrical substation
a sprinkler tank with pump house
a modern fire alarm system
a heating plant for centralised supply
To improve the quality of life, new picnic areas, playgrounds, dog parks, walking paths, landscape elements and visitor car parks will also be created. The houses will be equipped with photovoltaic systems to generate electricity.
