Design and construction of a twin-tube railway tunnel.

- Execution of final works, service facilities, shaft for TBM recovery at tunnel portals, M&E systems, railway and communication systems in the tunnel

A 5.9 km long, twin-tube railway tunnel is being built under the Brisbane River and the Central Business District (CBD). The order volume for Wayss & Freytag is around €183.4 million.
The order volume also includes the construction of 10.2 km of railway line from Dutton Park to Bowen Hills and the construction of four new railway stations (Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street).
With a total volume of 3.4 billion euros, the Cross River Rail project is the largest infrastructure project in Australia's history. The aim is to eliminate existing transport bottlenecks and significantly improve the frequency of local transport services. The connection to the road transport network and the bus routes will provide the entire South East Queensland region with a modern and efficient infrastructure.
