As an extension to the existing hospital building in the Southern part of the Schön Klinik hospital premises in Munich-Harlaching, Grünwalder Str. 72, structural building works are carried out for a basement floor and four upper floors. The new building will be connected to the existing building in several places. The construction works must not noticeably impair the clinical operations.
The main works to be performed comprise the reinforced concrete works for the foundation, the basement floor and the perforated facade, the floors of the four upper floors as well as the sand-lime brick masonry works for the interior walls.
Also to be carried out are earthworks as remaining excavation works and backfilling of the construction pit, laying of electrical and sewage ground pipes, demolition works at the facade in the transition areas between the new building and the existing one, painting and floor coating as well as earthing and electrical installation works. The limited area available for the site installation, the short construction period and the conversion work in the transition between new building and the existing one during uninterrupted clinical operations posed a special challenge during construction.
