Thames Tideway Tunnel

In joint venture with the partners BAM Nuttall, Morgan Sindall plc and Balfour Beatty Group Limited the tunnelling division of Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau AG, through their English affiliate, will help build the Thames Tideway Tunnel in London. The total contract value is 416 m £. W&F´s share in this project amounts to approx. 38 m £ which corresponds to approx. 51.5 m € at the current exchange rate and can be compared to the contract value of both CrossRail lots.

The Thames Tideway project is currently the largest water construction infrastructure project in Great Britain. At the moment approx. 39 m tons of untreated wastewater is discharged into the River Thames annually. The project will improve the London sewage system to meet future challenges. The project will start in 2016 and shall be completed in 2023.
