Crossrail about to be handed over
London - In London, the Crossrail / Farringdon station is about to be handed over. It is one of the first completed stations of the Crossrail Western Tunnels infrastructure project. Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau's tunnelling division built the station on behalf of Crossrail Limited, London, Great Britain. The contract also included the construction of two parallel, single-track railway tunnels, each 6.5 km long, as well as the Bond Street, Tottenham Court Road and Farringdon Stations. The tunnelling was carried out with two parallel earth pressure tunnel boring machines.
