An important step has been taken for the German rail link across the Fehmarnbelt: on 21 November 2025, the contract for the construction of the Fehmarnsund Tunnel was signed at a ceremony in the Kallmorgen Tower in Hamburg.
The project is based on an alliance of construction companies and project sponsors. The early involvement of the construction companies in the planning phase will ensure an efficient and cooperative transition to the construction phase.
DB InfraGO and DEGES are the project sponsors for the combined rail and road tunnel. We are responsible for the immersed tunnel (VP 3) and look forward to working with our alliance partners.
