3-span bridge over the Elbe-Lübeck-Canal

After a temporary bridge had been built, the existing bridge was dismantled, new abutments built and a new bridge superstructure with a length of 75.0 m and a total weight of 500 t was pre-installed on the road dam which was closed for the traffic. For installation the superstructure was moved in a longitudinal direction by windlasses and pontoons and placed on the new abutments.

Dimensions of the individual bridge elements:

  • 13.50 m at the Western bank
  • 21.00 m at the Eastern bank
  • 40.50 m in the middle through the Elbe-Lübeck-canal

The bridge was completed 20 months in advance of the agreed deadline.
