Technical specifications

The construction section „Reconstruction of the former „Senatssaal“ (parliament hall ) comprises the rehabilitation and rebuilding in the area of the 2nd upper floor / attic floor of the North wing of Maximilianeum. These works comprise a partial exchange or strengthening of supporting structure of the steel roof above the „Senatsaal“ and the adjacent rooms as well as the construction of new and sufficiently stable roof structures above the “Senatssaal” and the adjacent rooms to build new technical rooms on the attic floor. These measures require extensive works for the establishing and improvement of fire protection of the building. In connection with the rehabilitation and rebuilding works, sections at the technical shafts North and North/East were rehabilitated from the basement to the attic floor and also in the 1st upper floor the hall, which is situated below the “Senatssaal”. The construction part „Neubau der Ostpforte“ (construction of a new Eastern gate ) comprises a new construction to replace the existing Eastern gate. Due to increased requirements of the Bavarian Parliament, the existing security gate was replaced by a new construction, with the addition of a visitors´ centre. Therefore, this construction measure not only comprised the new construction of the two floors (1st basement floor / ground floor), but also the demolition of the existing Eastern gate and the replanning of the adjacent outdoor facilities as well as the construction of a barrier free toilet.
