During the construction of the Leipzig City Tunnel in the shopping centre under the station concourse of Leipzig Main station it was not possible to carry out any works from above ground. Therefore, two pilot tunnels were driven by pipe jacking so that vertical freezing bulkheads could be built.
A first in the Netherlands - TBM drive in the city centre: Hubertus tunnel, the longest inner-city road tunnel in the Netherlands, completes the Northern “Randweg” of The Hague.
Tunnel for a gas pipeline under Scruwaddacon Bay, Ireland was awarded the prize for best environmental initiative 2015 during the Tunnelling Awards at the International Tunelling Association.
